I found a very interesting and packing article in todays Independent. It consists also of lots of phrasal verbs, useful language and nice vocabulary! You might have a look at it.

I've just read the article and as well as being an exciting story, you are absolutely right about the language - fantastic vivid adjectives, lots of phrasal verbs and prepostions being used in other ways. Thanks again for pointing it out.
